Join us to meet, greet, network, and deepen your connections with the community. We will be joined by John-Peter Wilhite, Director of Community Impact at Social Venture Partners Tucson. John-Peter will speak about navigating the personal and professional aspects of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) in business settings.
With over 35 years of nonprofit experience, John-Peter joined Social Venture Partners (SVP) Tucson as the Director of Community Impact in 2018. In his work with nonprofits he has accumulated experience as both a staff and board member. He has also helped to found two nonprofits which still thrive today, LYRIC Center for LGBTQQ Youth in San Francisco and OutRight Action International addressing human rights for LGBTIQ people everywhere based in New York.
John-Peter Wilhite has been engaged in equity work and has developed and led IDEA workshops for many years. As one of the leads for a Train-the-Trainer program on Diversity in the 80s, he began his work seeking the most effective ways to help organizations understand how diverse and inclusive environments create stronger workforces and communities.
He earned an MA in Communication Studies from Texas State University and a BFA in Fashion and Art from Pratt Institute. John-Peter calls Tucson home, having lived here for over 19 years. He gained his work and life experience while living in Indianapolis, New York City, San Francisco (twice), and Austin prior to moving to Tucson.
