Join us via zoom on November 19th to hear one woman?s incredible story of resiliency and love for her built-family. Tina Howard (she/her/hers), a community activist with particular interest in Trans and Migrant issues, is now a mother of 5, but never thought she would be a mother of any. She grew up in small town Iowa surrounded by strong vocal women. She left for NYC in 1985 to study dance and Theater, later relocating to Chicago. Tina worked in Community Outreach building edible gardens all over the city including Cook County Corrections, and was part of amazing group of humans who started GirlsRock!Chicago a Rock n? Roll camp for girls. Tucson became home in 2012 and a deep love of the desert abides. Once settled her family of 4 knew they wanted to explore the idea of becoming foster parents. Shortly after becoming a licensed Foster Parent she began working in Foster Care as well. Tina loves the words and music and movement of women, and currently works at Kore Press. Her commitment to a good story will surely make this breakfast meeting unforgettable as the stars align around Adoption Awareness Month. Join us to hear about JOY and challenges of LGBTQIA+ fostering and adoptive parenting.
