This hike is free with your choice of a 5-mile loop or a 3-mile out-and-back. Come experience this beautiful meandering section of the Arizona National Scenic Trail. Enjoy sights of the Sonoran Desert’s plants and animals, art installations and a wide-open view of the Rincon Mountains while we spend time together as a Chamber.
Stick around after the hikes for a post-hike reception at the Gabe Zimmerman picnic area with food and beverage.
Bring: A small backpack with 2-3 bottles of water, favorite snacks, layers, sunscreen and your medication. Wear comfy breathable clothes, sunglasses, a hat, and hiking boots or sneakers you can trust to be good to your feet. Make sure your skin is well covered with clothing, or sunscreen. Both of these hikes are fully exposed.
The Arizona National Scenic Trail is a complete non-motorized path, stretching 800 diverse miles across Arizona from Mexico to Utah. It links deserts, mountains, canyons, forests, communities and people.
The Arizona Trail Association’s mission is to protect, maintain, enhance, promote and sustain the Arizona Trail as a unique encounter with the land.

Directions: Travel east on I-10 and take Exit 279 (Wentworth Road/Colossal Cave Road). Turn east (left) for 0.2 mile to Frontage Road. Turn south (right) on Frontage Road and follow this road for 5.2 miles to Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead.
Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead has ample parking, a portable toilet, small picnic shelter and bike rack.Fees/Admission
