We are the Advocacy Committee! We are a group of dedicated Folx whose goal is to advocate on behalf of the chamber and its members and whose primary goal is to promote inclusivity for ALL. Our goals as the Advocacy arm of the TLGBTQIA+ Chamber include the always underlying emphasis of inclusivity. This includes upcoming training for businesses to fully support the LGBTQIA+ Folx in their organizations and businesses. We will be offering short videos, infographics, and guides with helpful actions we can all do to make a safe workplace for everyone. We are also planning ways to ensure the local BIPOC community feels welcome in the chamber. We will support local businesses, organizations, and members of the chamber by offering monetary donations to necessary community causes that help further inclusivity and advocacy for all. The goals of the Advocacy Committee can be summed up in these few words: Diplomacy, Resiliency, United Front, Emotional Armor, Due Diligence, & Engagement. We are always looking for active chamber members who would like to support our efforts in advocacy. We are a friendly group who meet once a month and would love for you to join us! We meet every 2nd Tuesday at 11am over Zoom. Please reach out to us anytime if you would like to join a meeting, need assistance, or just to check out what we do. Thank you!
Dedicated and engaged members are key to the LGBT Chamber of Commerce. The Membership + Sponsorship Committee identifies potential members, welcomes new members and engages with existing members to ensure robust involvement in Chamber activities. Furthermore, the Membership + Sponsorship Committee partners with sponsors to help them increase their visibility and exposure to our community. We are committed to helping members get the most out of the Chamber. We invite you to join us in achieving this goal.
The Social Committee organizes the Chamber’s monthly Out & About socials, our holiday party bash in December, and any quarterly social events designed to help build relationships and promote our local businesses. Do you enjoy being social? Or perhaps you prefer to be behind the scenes helping throw the awesome party rather than just socializing? We take all kinds – the social committee is always looking for members who aren’t just dreamers, but who are also doers! Good ideas are only as good as the people implementing them. We meet monthly, but briefly, to keep the ideas and enthusiasm flowing like the beverages at our events.
