Studio Lighting Workshops for Women, Trans, and Femme Photographers in Tucson Tucson, AZ – A new series of studio lighting workshops is launching this winter for women, trans, and femme-identified photographers in Southern Arizona. Starting February 2nd, the series will provide opportunities to master basic to advanced portrait lighting techniques, led by Tucson-based photographer Rachel Marie Castillo. The workshops will be held monthly at Rachel’s studio, located at 4400 E Broadway #114. Made possible by a grant from the Arts Commission of Arizona, these workshops are designed to create a supportive, empowering learning space where women, trans, and femme-identified individuals can thrive. Participants will develop key lighting skills for portraiture, including portrait lighting, creative shadow play, and professional branding setups. With hands-on practice and private studio time included to experiment with the techniques, attendees will gain valuable experience and build their confidence behind the camera. The workshops are available on an a la carte basis or as a complete series at a discounted rate. By focusing on creating inclusive and empowering spaces, these workshops are tailored to ensure that all attendees can learn in an environment where they feel seen, supported, and respected.
