“Gratitude has been conceptualized as an emotion, a virtue, a moral sentiment, a motive, a coping response, a skill, and an attitude. It is all of these and more (Emmons and Crumpler, 2000).” Research on gratitude and happiness is relatively new, and there are many popular beliefs around the benefits of gratitude. This workshop provides a summary of the research about gratitude, and introduces gratitude practices that professionals can integrate into their work and personal lives that can increase career satisfaction, empathy, and joy, and prevent feelings of burnout.
